People with Cancer Help People with Cancer
Hi. I'm Al Toman. In 2007 I battled T4 SCCA of the right maxillary sinus, s/p maxillectomy, neck dissection, and chemoradiation. I learned two things that helped me and those around me get through this and win the battle:
- Fight Cancer with Humor
- Share Your Cancer Story
I want to share my story with you and feel the love. I hope it inspires you to share your story and feel the love too! Why? Because it will help the next person who is looking cancer in the eye and they need to learn how to Fight Cancer with Humor. If for no other reason, just to survive. You can be a grumpy-doodle or you can git on with it. So, let's git it on!
Fight Cancer with Humor
Fighting cancer with humor doesn't necessarily mean a room full of laffs. Well, at least not all the time. It means getting over the hard times with the spirit of a room full of laffs. Fighting cancer with humor doesn't always mean that you're on top of the world or the top of your game. Well, why aren't you? Get back in it with the spirit of a room full of laffs. Git it?
Sometimes we cry. It's good for you. That's fighting cancer with humor. Sometimes we worry. That's natural, as long as we can shake it off, baby! Don't forget your cancer support team. They keep you flipped up side right but they have their problems too. Isn't that great how they do that? It's a gas. It's a laff. I hope my story, as well as other stories, uplift you in your experience with cancer. It's a tough enough battle without making yourself sick over it.
