Letter to my caretakers on July 25, 2008

Randy Pausch
1960-2008

Today I closed myself in the bathroom and cried like a baby.

There are many people we meet on our journey if not face to face, mind to mind, and spirit to spirit who become our mentors and inspire us to go on past the "brick wall". Randy Pausch was/is one of them for me. Since my new adventure starting in January 2007 I've met many people face to face whose lives were about to take another kind of journey beyond this World. I learned greatly from each one of them and more so to appreciate them. I feel so lucky. There are so many not as lucky as I. I have wonderful support here at home and from people that I don't even know from around the World and a wonderful team at UNC many of whom I don't even know their names. It is difficult to find just the right words to properly say "thank you" because there isn't any right words to choose from. So in my silence I say to you all, "thank you".
